The Procurement Officer will be responsible for: * Managing the procurement of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, consumables, packaging materials, office supplies and other items required by the company. * Receiving and reviewing purchase requests from branches, stores and relevant departments. * Consolidating branch requirements and preparing purchase orders/requisitions for approval. * Sourcing products from approved and reliable suppliers. * Identifying new suppliers and comparing suppliers based on price, quality, availability, payment terms and reliability. * Negotiating competitive prices and favourable payment terms with suppliers. * Ensuring that purchases are made at the best possible price without compromising product quality. * Monitoring supplier prices and identifying price increases or opportunities for better pricing. * Maintaining an updated supplier/vendor database, including contact details, products supplied, prices and payment terms.
Responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS * B.Sc/HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related field. * Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. * Good knowledge of purchasing and inventory processes. * Strong numerical and analytical skills. * Excellent organisational and follow-up skills. * Ability to compare prices and identify cost-saving opportunities. * Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other basic computer applications. * Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. * High level of integrity, accountability and attention to detail. * Must be proactive and able to work independently.
Requirements & Skills
* Minimum of 1years relevant procurement experience, preferably in a pharmacy, healthcare, FMCG, retail or distribution environment.
