Assist in preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning food items for daily meals. Maintain a spotless kitchen environment by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment after each use. Support the chef during meal preparation and service by handling basic cooking tasks when needed. Ensure all food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness and prevent waste. Keep the kitchen organized and ensure all tools and supplies are returned to designated areas. Assist with regular inventory checks and notify the chef when supplies are running low. Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned to support smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

Proven previous experience in a kitchen environment, whether in a restaurant, hotel, or private household. Practical knowledge of proper food handling, hygiene practices, and kitchen safety protocols. Physically fit and able to stand for long hours while performing repetitive kitchen tasks. Strong attention to detail, especially when cleaning and organizing workspaces. Reliable, punctual, and committed to showing up on time every day. Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy meal preparation periods. Positive attitude and willingness to take instructions and work as part of a team. Must be ready for immediate resumption and available to work full-time.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum of 1–2 years of verifiable experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Commis, or similar role. Basic literacy and ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English. A food hygiene or safety certificate is an added advantage but not mandatory. Must reside in or around Life Camp, Abuja, as accommodation is not provided for this role.
