The instructor will: • teach practical welding to small classes (5–15 students) • demonstrate tig, mig and smaw welding techniques • teach welding positions 1g, 2g, 3g, g, 5g & 6g. And 1f, 2f, 3f, & 4f • supervise hands-on student practice sessions • teach welding safety and correct workshop practices • assist in student assessments and final practical tests • maintain a safe and organised training workshop this role is mostly practical workshop training, not classroom theory.
Responsibilities
Applicants must have strong hands-on welding experience. Must have experience with: • tig (argon) welding • mig welding • smaw (stick) welding strong advantage if experienced in: • stainless steel welding • aluminium welding • fabrication workshop projects • pipe welding 5g & 6g
Requirements & Skills
Technical skill requirements the candidate must be fully competent in: smaw (stick welding) gtaw (tig welding) gmaw (mig/mag welding) and must be able to weld confidently in: flat position (1g / 1f) horizontal position (2g / 2f) vertical position (3g / 3f) overhead position (4g / 4f) basic pipe welding (optional but strong advantage) 3. Certifications (not compulsory but an advantage) any of the following will strengthen the candidate: trade test certificate (city & guilds or equivalent) welding certification from recognized bodies (local or international) safety certification (osha or basic workshop safety training) technical college or vocational training in welding/fabrication
